Privacy Policy

How we protect your data.

Last updated: 17 Jun 2025.

This Privacy Policy explains what information TaskLift collects, how we use it, and your rights. By using TaskLift, you agree to the data practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email and a username to create your TaskLift account. We also store an (encrypted) password. We use this to authenticate your login.
  • Subscription/Billing: We do not store your full payment card details. A secure third-party payment processor collects billing info (e.g. card number, billing address) for subscription payments. TaskLift only receives confirmation of payment status.
  • Chat Content and Images: We store the conversations you have with AI and any images you upload, for your convenience. This content is used only to display your chat history and to generate AI responses. We do not analyze, sell, or share this data for advertising or other purposes. When you delete your account or request deletion, your stored chats and images will be deleted as described below.
  • Cookies and Device Data: We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences (such as theme or language), and ensure the site functions properly. Cookies do not track you for ads or marketing. We may also collect device and browser information (e.g. browser type, OS) for security and analytics.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information only to operate and improve TaskLift:

  • To Provide Services: Your account info allows us to authenticate you. Your chats and images are processed to generate and display AI responses.
  • To Communicate: We use your email to send service notifications (e.g. payment receipts, policy changes). You can opt out of marketing communications (we have none).
  • To Improve the Service: We may analyze system logs and errors to improve site performance and fix bugs. However, we do not use your chat data to train models or for other unrelated research.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

  • With Third-Party AI Providers: TaskLift routes your prompts and any uploaded images to external AI model providers (such as OpenAI, Google, or any AI tool you connect) to generate responses. These providers may process your inputs according to their own policies. We do not share your personal account information (name, email) with them. You should review those providers’ privacy policies if concerned. TaskLift is not responsible for those third parties’ practices.
  • With Service Providers: We use trusted third parties to provide services (e.g. hosting, email, payments). These providers receive only the data needed to perform their function (e.g. billing address to payment processor). They are contractually obligated to protect your data.
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, comply with legal processes, or protect TaskLift’s users.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Account Data: We retain your account and chat history as long as your subscription is active and for a period after cancellation (as required for billing) or until you request deletion. The exact retention period may vary by subscription plan (e.g. a higher-tier plan may allow longer access to history).
  • Deletion Requests: You may request deletion of your account and data at any time. We will delete your personal information and chat history promptly upon request, subject to legal requirements. To request deletion, email hello@tasklift.ai.
  • Inactive Accounts: If you cancel and do not log in for an extended period (e.g. 12 months), we may delete your data in accordance with our retention policies.

5. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access and Correction: You can access and update your account details via your profile.
  • Data Deletion: As noted, you can request full deletion of your personal data and chat history.
  • Opt-out: We do not use your data for marketing or ads, so there is nothing to opt out of in that regard. You may disable non-essential cookies via your browser settings.

6. Security

We employ industry-standard measures to protect your data from unauthorized access. This includes encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure password storage. However, no system is completely secure. You should maintain control of your account credentials to prevent unauthorized access.

7. Children’s Privacy

TaskLift is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you are under 13, please do not use TaskLift or provide any personal information.

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. We will notify you of significant changes via email or on the platform. The “Last updated” date will reflect the policy revision date.
