Working With Notifications
Get updates from your chats & assistants and the platform.
TaskLift comes integrated with live-updated in-app notifications.
Notification Types
Notifications may originate from following sources:
- Your Chats & Assistants - you may add the Notifications tool in order to let your chats & assistants notify you with arbitrary updates and alerts - letting you stay up-to-date with whatever efforts your chats & assistants are set to work on
- Platform - we may notify you about the status of your TaskLift chats, billing etc
Following platform notifications are sent:
- Chat Finished - triggers when you start a chat via TaskLift app and then navigate away before it finishes (it does not trigger when you're still following the chat in real-time when it finishes or when it's a chat started by an assistant, a scheduled assistant, or an API call)
Notification Listing & Indicator
You may reach the notfications listing by opening the Notifications popup visible in the top-right corner on desktop or by going to the full-size Notifications page from your user menu (reachable via the top-right avatar on desktop or the More button at the bottom on mobile).
On the listing, you may click each notification in order to navigate to the chat or assistant that has created it or to the relevant TaskLift section or page in case of platform notifications.
Additional live-updated New Notification indicator is shown over the notifications popup on desktop and over the user menu on mobile. You'll also see it for each notification that you haven't read yet. All these indicators will dynamically appear & disappear across all your devices as you receive new notifications and read them via either the popup or the page.
Push Notifications
You may enable push notifications in order to get notified in real-time even when you're not actively using TaskLift. To do so, open the Notifications page, click the Settings button on top, and switch the Enable Push Notifications option in the settings modal.
Push notifications are supported on most modern desktop and mobile browsers. They usually work both from the browser and the installed TaskLift app. One exception is iOS where push notifications are only supported when TaskLift is installed. Please see the Installing On Desktop & Mobile page for more information about installing TaskLift.
Once enabled, your operating system will ask you to allow TaskLift to send you push notifications. Please allow it in order to start receiving them.
You may disable push notifications at any time by going back to the settings modal and switching the Enable Push Notifications option off.
